Inspired by the journals favoured by seafaring types from an age of nautical adventure, we wanted our Mariner’s Journal to reflect the highly skilled workmanship that was apparent in goods from this bygone era.

We hand make the journal covers in England from Horween Chromexcel, a leather from the world famous Horween Tannery. As it ages it will develop its own unique character, changing colour tone as the leather is flexed, resulting in a beautiful rich patina. The tab closure is made from English pure oak bark tanned bridle leather and fitted with solid brass hardware.

We didn’t feel that standard commercial paper would be right for us, so each journal has 80 plain white pages, which are handmade from pure cotton. We also combined our love of tradition with modern lifestyle needs and included four card slots to the internal front face.
